Dosage: The recommended initial dosage of ThyroVet™ Powder is between 0.5 to 3.0 mg of levothyroxine sodium (T-4) per 100 lbs of the horse's body weight, administered once daily or divided into multiple doses. Adjustment of dosage may be necessary based on the individual horse's response, with a typical daily dosage falling within the range of 6 to 36 mg of T-4. It is important to monitor the horse's clinical response closely until an appropriate maintenance dose is established. Since thyroid hormone levels can vary among horses, dosages should be tailored to each animal, and daily observation for signs of hyperthyroidism or hypersensitivity is recommended.
Administration: ThyroVet™ Powder can be administered by mixing the prescribed daily dose with the horse's concentrate or by top dressing it onto the grain, preferably if the grain is rolled or ground. To ensure proper adherence of the powder to the feed, it is advised to lightly moisten the grain with water or a liquid supplement.
